Paul Weston, a 26-year-old male, tragically lost his life on January 17, 1987, in Shelby, North Carolina. He was one of three men killed in a mass shooting at the Shelby III Adult Bookstore, which was known for its gay clientele. The incident also left two other men seriously wounded.

The investigation into Paul Weston's death revealed that the attack was a hate crime targeting the LGBTQ+ community. Three or four masked gunmen entered the bookstore, ordered the men inside to lie face-down ...
