On September 9, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., Shelby Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of Ramblewood Drive in Shelby, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 44-year-old Matthew Libby, a resident of Shelby, deceased at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
