Arlene S. Mabe, a 53-year-old woman from Danbury, North Carolina, tragically lost her life on December 4, 2005. She was killed by her ex-boyfriend, Paul F. Kendrick, who then took his own life. The incident occurred at Mabe's mobile home, where Kendrick shot her upon entering the residence. Mabe's young granddaughter, who was present during the incident, hid in a bedroom and called for help.
