Omar Garmendia Flores, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically killed on October 9, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Hilo Drive when Omar and another individual were approached and robbed by two black males. During the course of the robbery, one of the assailants fired shots, striking and killing Omar. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department classified the case as a homicide and initiated an investigation into the incident.
