On May 27, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 54-year-old Claudiano Alfonso Contreras Espinosa was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Two20 apartment complex on Kingsford Drive in south Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers found Contreras Espinosa with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
