Brian Tyrik Freeman, a 15-year-old African American male from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on January 18, 2014. He was found in the 700 block of East Highland Avenue at around 12:06 a.m. on that fateful Saturday. Brian was walking down the street with a friend when he was shot by someone in a passing car. Despite the efforts of his friend to seek cover, Brian was fatally struck by the bullets. The incident left his family and community in shock and mourning.
