In the spring of 2013, a dedicated Detroit Police Officer, Patrick Hill, a 37-year-old male, was grievously wounded in the line of duty. The incident occurred on April 2nd, when Officer Hill, a 12-year veteran of the force, and his fellow officers were attempting to apprehend a 23-year-old murder suspect on the city's east side. A shootout erupted between the officers and the suspect, who opened fire from a vehicle.
