Demond Rasshun Batts, a 24-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 27, 2015, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding his death were deeply distressing for the community. Demond Batts was shot and killed at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Rocky Mount.
