Stoshua Eugene Lynch, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 11, 2021, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Born on April 4, 1999, in Nash County, NC, to Edward Hopkins and Mellisa Lynch, Stoshua attended the Tar River Academy. He was cherished by his family, including his mother, father, five brothers, one sister, and maternal grandmother.
On the night of January 11, 2021, Stoshua was found shot to death in a vehicle at the intersection of Cokey Road and
Fairview Road in Rocky Mount. A female passenger was also shot but survived with non-life-threatening injuries. This incident marked the second homicide in the Lynch family within a span of 56 days, as Stoshua's brother, Tavarus Devon Lynch, had been shot and killed on November 16, 2020.
Despite the efforts of law enforcement, neither of the Lynch brothers' cases has been solved. The Rocky Mount Police Department and the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office have been investigating the homicides, but no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Team Cold Case, an organization dedicated to solving cold cases, has offered a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the resolution of each case.
