Donnell Eric Drakeford, a 41-year-old African American male, passed away on July 13, 2016, at his residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. The circumstances surrounding his death were tragic, as he was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on the 4400 block of Ridgeville Drive around 11:58 p.m. on the night of his death. Upon arrival, officers discovered Drakeford with the fatal injury.
