Antwyn Curtis Beatty, a 34-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on the evening of September 23, 2016, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred at approximately 7:55 p.m. in the 200 block of North 13th Street, near Walnut Street. Wilmington Police responded to the report of shots fired and found Beatty's body lying in the grass near the sidewalk. The investigation revealed that Beatty had been fatally shot, and his death was ruled a homicide.
