Jonathan White, a 25-year-old male from Lexington, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed during a robbery at his apartment on Jamaica Drive on April 17, 2017. The incident occurred when two men, Rashemel Good and Joshua Norman, broke into White's apartment with the intent to rob him. During the robbery, White was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Good was apprehended at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center, where he was serving a 150-day sentence for a domestic violence charge. Norman was already in custody at the Davidson County Jail under a $1.25 million bond for a separate shooting incident that occurred on January 3, 2018. Both men were denied bond for the April 17, 2017, murder of Jonathan White.
