On August 14, 2014, 40-year-old Anthony Charles Morgan, a Black male from Detroit, Michigan, was killed in a violent ambush on the city's west side. Known to friends and family as "Ant," Morgan had spent the evening at the Ace of Spades Gentlemen's Club. In the early morning hours, he left the venue accompanied by two other men, entering a cream-colored Lincoln MKZ to travel eastbound on West 8 Mile Road near Greenfield Road.
