Derrick Lee Banner, a 26-year-old transgender woman, was found shot to death in a vehicle on Rosetta Street in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 12, 2017. Banner, who was also known as Derricka and "Ms. Bow Bow," was originally from New York and lived in Lenoir, North Carolina. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene around 3 a.m. and discovered Banner with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
