Eskinder Dawit Asefaw, a 26-year-old man, was fatally shot on April 20, 2018, in east Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Wembley Drive, where Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a call at approximately 4:48 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Eskinder with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead the following morning on April 21.
