Willie Junior Melvin, a 33-year-old African American male, was found dead at his residence in Clinton, NC, on May 19, 2018. The Sampson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 11:58 p.m. and discovered Melvin, who had been shot at least once. Initial reports indicated that an unknown suspect approached the front door of Melvin's home and shot him before fleeing on foot. The suspect was described as wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
