Kvon Tyriq Cook, a 25-year-old African American male from Durham, North Carolina, was found dead on July 8, 2019. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. along Craven Street near Usher Street. Durham police discovered Cook inside a vehicle in a ditch, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police quickly classified Cook's death as a homicide. However, details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.
