Zakee Harrell, a 20-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 10, 2016, in Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Wedgedale Avenue near Walton Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found Zakee Harrell dead in the street from gunfire. A woman, who had also been shot in the arm, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The neighborhood was quickly closed off by the police, and investigators began their search for suspects and information.
