Carl "Bubba" Eugene Jones Jr., a 31-year-old male from Newport, North Carolina, tragically passed away on January 9, 2020. He was found shot to death inside a fully-engulfed burning home on Melanie Street in Emerald Isle. Emergency personnel responded to the house fire and discovered his body inside the home. The incident was a shocking and isolated event in the otherwise peaceful community of Emerald Isle.
