Marcus Spruell, a 23-year-old resident of San Francisco, was tragically shot and killed on October 14, 2013, in the Mission District. The incident added to the city’s troubling pattern of gun violence during that year. San Francisco police responded to the scene but faced challenges in solving the case, as is common with many violent crimes in the area, particularly when witnesses are reluctant to come forward.
