Alexander H. Locklear, an 34-year-old male from Maxton, NC, tragically died on June 3, 2020. Locklear was found shot inside his residence on Red Hill Road during an armed robbery. He was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Four individuals were charged in connection with Locklear's death. Dajour Rashan Green, 28, of Laurinburg, Lloyd Kinston Locklear Jr., 30, of Maxton, Smity Locklear, 43, of Maxton, and Mary Helen Oxendine, 54, of Red Springs were
each charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, and first-degree burglary. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the United States Marshal Service, Laurinburg Police Department, Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
The case highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community in bringing the perpetrators to justice. The suspects are being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office Homicide Division continues to investigate the case and welcomes any additional information from the public.
