Tyvien McLean, a 12-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on July 14, 2020, in Durham, North Carolina. Tyvien was shot in the head while inside his second-floor apartment at the Cornwallis Road Public Housing complex. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., and Tyvien was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was placed on life support. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Tyvien succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
