On the evening of April 30, 2024, 17-year-old Kevin Darnell Guy III was fatally shot near the intersection of West Umstead and South Streets in Durham, North Carolina. Responding to reports of gunfire around 9:54 p.m., police officers discovered Kevin and an adult woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, where Kevin succumbed to his injuries; the woman's injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
