On April 1, 2021, Michael Cobb, a 62-year-old man from Macclesfield, North Carolina, was found shot to death at a residence on Otter Creek Church Road. The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene after receiving a call around 5:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Cobb had been shot and killed.
