James Henry Potts, a 43-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from Eagle Mills, NC, tragically passed away on April 9, 2021. He was a beloved family man, known for his love of working on cars, riding four-wheelers, fishing, hunting, and shooting skeet. James is survived by his wife Tomeka, daughter Jessica, son Jacob, and his mother Carolyn.
On the evening of April 9, 2021, James was found shot multiple times in the side yard of his residence on Rock Springs Road near Harmony, NC.
Deputies from the Iredell County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and administered emergency medical care, but James was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses identified Noah Franklin Potts, James's 41-year-old relative, as the shooter and informed deputies that Noah had fled the scene on an all-terrain vehicle .

Based on the investigation, Noah Franklin Potts was charged with one count of Felony First Degree Murder and is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond.
