Shaun Michael Goolsby, a 31-year-old man from Winston-Salem, NC, tragically lost his life on May 29, 2021. Goolsby, who was found with a gunshot wound inside a home on West Academy Street, was immediately taken to the hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries on May 31, 2021. The incident marked the 14th homicide in Winston-Salem for the year 2021.
