Treshaun Raymond Milton, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 6, 2022, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Treshaun was born on October 2, 2002, in Winston-Salem to Jessica Byrd and Julius Ray Milton. He attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County schools before transitioning to home schooling. Treshaun was a former member of Mt. Calvary Holy Church.

On the night of March 6, 2022, Treshaun and his friends visited a Cook Out restaurant on Akron Drive in Winston-Salem. After leaving the restaurant, they drove onto Highway 52. At around 11:40 p.m., two individuals in a dark-colored car leaned out and fired more than a dozen shots into their vehicle. Treshaun, who was in the car, was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Another victim, 20-year-old Toriyana Marquez Gaskins, was also shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Winston-Salem Police Department launched an investigation into the double homicide. They believe the suspects may have been at or near the Cook Out before the shooting occurred. The police do not consider this a random act and suspect there was some type of conflict involved. Despite the severity of the incident, the victims have not been forthcoming with information, making it challenging for the authorities to identify the perpetrators.

Treshaun's mother, Jessica Cannon, expressed her grief and anger over the loss of her son. She described Treshaun as a loving and light-hearted individual whose smile would light up a room. Jessica hopes that those responsible for her son's death will be held accountable and that her son's memory will inspire positive change in the community.

The investigation into Treshaun Raymond Milton's death is ongoing, and the Winston-Salem Police Department continues to seek information from the public to bring the perpetrators to justice.
