Deykwon Lavente Gilmore, an 18-year-old Black male from Burlington, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on September 28, 2021. His body was discovered near the railroad tracks on Railroad Street in Burlington. Initially, detectives believed that Gilmore had been shot and killed, but the immediate cause of death was still under investigation at the time.
