Death by Force

Jalen Ramon Mills, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on January 2, 2022, in Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1:36 a.m., in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America Hotel located on South Miami Boulevard. Alongside Jalen, another victim, Tony Rashawn Smith Jr., a 22-year-old African American male, was also found dead at the scene. Both men were pronounced dead upon the arrival of the Durham police.
