Christian Laurence Siley II, a 23-year-old male, tragically lost his life on April 30, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Siley was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott on West Woodlawn Road. The incident occurred around 6 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the call and initiated an investigation into the homicide.
The investigation led to the arrest of two suspects.
The first suspect, Alexander Holman, a 24-year-old male, was arrested on unrelated charges by CMPD’s Crime Gun Suppression Team in May 2022. After an interview with detectives, Holman was charged with first-degree murder for his role in Siley's death. Holman was transported to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and served with the warrant.
The second suspect, Jasmine Howard, a 25-year-old female, was arrested on July 26, 2022, in Lee Summit, Missouri. Howard's arrest was a collaborative effort involving CMPD VCAT, FBI Charlotte Violent Crime Task Force, FBI Kansas City, U.S. Marshalls, Lee Summit Police Department, and the Kansas City Police Department. Howard is currently in custody of the Lee Summit Police Department and is awaiting extradition back to Mecklenburg County.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. CMPD Major Dave Robinson mentioned that it was uncertain whether Siley was staying at the hotel or if he was in the area by chance. The police are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.
