On January 1, 2015, Ronald Hoover, 37, was fatally shot in a triple shooting in southwest Charlotte, making him the city’s first homicide victim of the year. The incident occurred on Fairwood Avenue, where Hoover was found dead at the scene. Two other victims, also shot, were taken to hospitals and survived their injuries. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department believed the shootings were connected but have sought additional information from the public to solve the case.
