Kashawn Johnson, an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 14, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kashawn was shot on Beech Crest Place around 6:30 p.m. and was transported to Atrium Main Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Kashawn's death was one of five homicides being investigated by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at the time.
