Wilson Edgardo Gutierrez Mejia, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically shot and killed in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 6, 2022. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Central Avenue near Kilbourne Drive. Gutierrez Mejia was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a well-known soccer coach and player in the Charlotte area, originally from El Salvador, and left behind three children—two in Charlotte and one in El Salvador.
