Travion Williams, a 31-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 25, 2022, in Greenville, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the front yard of his home on Kenwood Lane. Travion was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The Greenville Police Department responded to the scene just after midnight, following a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Travion's lifeless body, and an investigation was immediately launched.
The investigation revealed that Travion and his wife, Latoria Nashae Anderson, 30, were involved in a domestic dispute prior to the shooting. During the altercation, Latoria allegedly shot Travion, resulting in his death. Latoria was subsequently arrested and charged with murder. She is currently being held in the Pitt County Detention Center without bond. The case remains under investigation, and additional details have not been released at this time.
Travion Williams was born on October 5, 1991, in Greenville, NC, to Carol Williams and Stevie Moye. He attended South Central High School in Winterville, NC, and graduated in 2010. Travion enlisted in the United States Army in 2013 and was honorably discharged in 2017. He was an active member of his community, serving in the youth choir at Arthurs Chapel FWB Church and later joining Sycamore Chapel Baptist Church. Travion aspired to become a successful dog breeder and had recently begun coaching his sons' baseball teams and mentoring youth in his community.
Travion leaves behind his children, Josiah and Jayden Williams of Greenville, NC, Ryan Seward of Orlando, FL, and Jordyn Williams of Greenville, NC; two stepsons, Kamran and Landyn Anderson of Greenville, NC; his parents, Carol Williams of Greenville, NC, and Stevie Moye of Winterville, NC; two brothers, Ju'Wan and Shammond Williams of Winterville, NC; and two sisters, Sacoya and Breonna Moye of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by his grandparents, Luther Gay of Farmville, NC, JoAnn Moye of Farmville, NC, Thomas Moye of New Haven, CT, and Ronnie Gilbert of Durham, NC; one niece, Sienna Moye; one nephew, Jaxen Moye; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The community mourns the loss of Travion Williams, a dedicated father, mentor, and friend. His untimely death has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. The investigation into his murder continues, and authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served.
