Leroy Tank Williams, a 47-year-old African American male, was a dedicated officer with the Tallulah Police Department in Louisiana. On May 4, 1995, while serving a warrant, Patrolman Williams was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred when the wanted subject fled upon Williams announcing himself, and a friend of the fugitive shot Williams in the chest while attempting to prevent him from chasing the man.
