Susan Walsh, a 36-year-old freelance journalist and former exotic dancer, disappeared on July 16, 1996, from Nutley, New Jersey. On the day of her disappearance, Susan left her son with her estranged husband and stepped out, reportedly to use a nearby payphone. She left behind crucial personal items such as her purse, pager, and medication for her bipolar disorder. She was never seen again, and no phone calls were made from the local payphones that day.
