On the evening of June 20, 2008, Nathaniel Menwell Mills, a 30-year-old African American male, was fatally shot multiple times in Slidell, Louisiana. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m., shortly after he had closed his business, the 'Unfadeable Barber and Beauty' shop located on Carroll Road. Despite pleas from his mother, Genevia Craft, and his fiancée, Daphne Williams, to not work late for his safety, he continued to do so.
