In the festive atmosphere of Christmas night in 2013, a celebration in Olde Towne Slidell, Louisiana, turned into a scene of tragedy. Mark Womack, a 23-year-old male, was caught in the crossfire of a shooting that erupted from a dispute that began inside a local bar and spilled out into the street. Womack, a graduating senior at Southeastern Louisiana University and a former football player at Slidell High School, was not involved in the initial altercation.
