On a Tuesday evening in the Alton area near Slidell, Louisiana, the life of 18-year-old Canaan Batiste was tragically cut short. On November 17, 2020, a shocking act of violence unfolded inside a residence on North 16th Street. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported that multiple individuals forced their way into the home, which was occupied by several people at the time, and opened fire.
