On May 19, 2019, Melvin Webb, a 43-year-old African American man from Slidell, Louisiana, was fatally shot outside Gloria's Bayou Lounge on Salmen Street. Webb was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Slidell Memorial Hospital.
