On a late summer evening in New Orleans, the life of 30-year-old Chauncy Terrell Smith Sr. was tragically cut short. The male victim was caught in a hail of bullets on August 13, 2007, in the historic Treme neighborhood. The attack occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of St. Philip and North Villere Streets, a place that would become the final scene of his life.
