In the days leading up to Christmas, a family in New Orleans was irrevocably altered by violence. Jerome Mutin, a 21-year-old African American man known affectionately to some as 'Nuddie,' was fatally shot on December 23, 2009. His life was cut short in an act of gun violence that left his loved ones grappling with a sudden and profound loss.
