On December 16, 2024, Adam Brown, a 35-year-old Cox Communications employee, was fatally shot in New Orleans East. The incident occurred around 12:19 p.m. in the 8000 block of Dwyer Road, where Brown was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds beside his work truck. He was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
