In the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, a sense of unease settled over the 7800 block of South Coronet Court in New Orleans. The quiet of the neighborhood, characterized by its older model townhomes and apartments, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to a call of a shooting.
