Marcell Franklin, a 15-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on March 28, 2014, in Baker, Louisiana. Marcell was a twin and a 9th-grade student at Zachary High School. Her death occurred during a private birthday party at the Baker Civic Club, where she was one of three teenagers shot and killed. The other victims were Kendal Dorsey, 15, and Diontrey Claiborne, 18. Javaughn Simmons, 19, was also shot but survived.
