In the late summer of 2014, the life of 18-year-old Laquincia Wilkerson was tragically cut short. An African American female from Baker, Louisiana, Wilkerson was the victim of gun violence on August 28, 2014. The incident that led to her death was described by the Baker Police Chief at the time, Mike Knaps, as a case of a drug dealer shooting his ex-girlfriend in what he claimed was self-defense.
