In the late evening of Sunday, May 25, 2014, Clarence Wilson, a 43-year-old Black male, was found shot multiple times near the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and America Street in New Orleans. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The New Orleans Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into Wilson's death. Through their investigation, detectives identified 22-year-old Jekym Dowell as a ...
