In the historic Treme neighborhood of New Orleans, a confrontation on March 14, 2019, tragically ended the life of Tyrone Reese, a 29-year-old African American man. The incident unfolded in front of an apartment building, where Reese was fatally shot. The man identified as the shooter was Gerardo Bugallo-Beret, a former New York City police officer.
