On September 12, 2014, Shandon 'Big Man' Barnes, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically killed in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred at a busy intersection in the Algiers neighborhood, specifically near the corner of Flanders Street and General Meyer Avenue. Barnes was driving his blue SUV when an unknown assailant opened fire, striking him multiple times.
