On a warm Easter Sunday in 2015, the life of 18-year-old Khallid Mohammed was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident, which also claimed the life of 21-year-old Lamont Toney, unfolded in the normally quiet Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans. Mohammed, a young Black man, was in a vehicle with Toney when the shooting occurred in the 2300 block of Joliet Street.
